Missouri Missing is a non-profit organization geared to assist families across the state that have and will suffer the loss of a missing
loved one. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the loss of their loved one, Missouri Missing is dedicated to provide as many services
as possible to each family, within the realms of the organizations ability. Whether it be printing and distributing flyers, providing memorial
services, assisting in researching the case or providing moral support, each and every member of Missouri Missing’s Board of Directors,
volunteers and advocates are dedicated to what they can provide.
Missouri Missing has been in operation since October 2007. It was the brain child of two mothers, Peggy Florence and Marianne Asher-
Chapman, both whom have suffered the loss of an adult daughter. Through their individual experiences, both mothers discovered there was
little or no help available in Missouri for people who have suffered this type of ambiguous loss. It was this that sparked the idea and later the
inception of Missouri Missing.
Through countless hours of research and discussion, Peggy Florence and Marianne Asher-Chapman discovered their needs were similar
to other families. As a result of their research and determination, the two women gathered a board of directors, each of which have experienced
a similar loss or have dealt with domestic violence. In doing so, the board of directors is full of persons who are full of compassion and each
have a desire to help others.
