According
to the FBI and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) there were nearly
51,000 active missing adult cases and more than 40,000 unidentified bodies in
the United States as of January 31, 2007.
It’s
hard to imagine what that means. It’s hard to imagine the impact having a
missing loved one can cause to a family.
Unfortunately,
unless a person actually experiences the loss of a missing loved one, chances
are they never think about how they would be affected.
Among
the many things that need to be done to assist the families who suffer from
the loss of a missing loved one, Missouri Missing intends to serve as an outreach
service for the families while educating the public on the severity and impact
of missing adults on society as a whole.
In
order to do this, we need your help. Whether you have a missing loved one
or not, every little thing helps.
